Here's the latest, it's called 2005-02-01.
Bits and pieces were recorded in New York over several years. Finally assembled and tweaked many years later in Stockholm.
Today's piece is surprisingly called 2005-02-02.
This is an extremely reconfigured version of "voice - Rouen" from the album "Space Exploration.
Here's 2005-02-03. A twisted version of what you heard if you entered this site from the main page.
I haven't even announced this thing yet and I'm starting to get lots of hits. I've switched over to using BitTorrent to deliver the files so I don't get hit with huge bandwidth fees.
2005-02-04 is a little different. It's just on the border of being ambient. Maybe it should be called Drum 'n' Bossa (Bossa 'n' Bass?)
Anyway, it's Friday and time to dance!
This is a collaboration between me and David Azarch, the DJ from the Mudd Club. Actually, it came from an idea from Lauren Amazeen, the former Executive Director of The Kitchen, who's also my wife.
I know that the torrents aren't working as they should. I've uploaded a new set that are point at a different tracker. We'll see how that does.
Here's 2005-02-05. It's Saturday. You figure it out.
2005-02-06 is a simple song for a Sunday. Recorded in Domkyrkan, thanks to Rayverb.
When I have a massive migraine, playing the dijeridoo helps a lot. 2005-02-07 is the result of that.
It's my birthday, by the way.
2005-02-08 is a little old and a lot new.
By the way, it's the day after my birthday.
Help is on the way regarding downloads. More news soon.
I'll be pausing the project until the bandwidth solution is finished. I'm hoping to start uploading again by this weekend.
The bandwidth problem has been solved thanks to archive.org.
The existing links have been changed from torrents to direct downloads, so you should be able to get instant gratification now.
I'm still working out all the logistics, so new songs won't start until the weekend.
I keep returning to this over and over again. It's the piano solo from the song "Portsmouth" from the album "Stuff." Which you can buy at the iTunes Music Store.
It was recorded using an Atari ST and the Hotz Translator software. This time re-realized in Garageband.
So, here's 2005-02-10.
Exploring my Swedish ancestry electronically. Here's a sort of Drum 'n' Nykelharpa thing. 2005-02-11.
Catching up. Here's the one for the 12th 2005-02-12.
Still racing from the past to catch up to the future. Here's the missing tune for the 13th. 2005-02-13.
Archive.org is great, but the process is too slow for spontaneity. I'm trying .Mac now. It should solve the bandwidth issue, but it's a little flaky on the podcast side. We'll see how it works.
I still owe you two tracks. We'll catch up soon . . .
This is about as ambient as it gets. This is a remix of a bed I created for a corporate video I've been editing for the last week. 2005-02-14.
I hope the podcasting side is working out. I've been editing the XML file by hand until the problem with .Mac and headers is worked out.
I know I'm behind two tunes, but hey - you should see my credit card bills.
Got the one for the 15th, and we are all caught up. 2005-02-15.
A few quick ones to catch up. This one is so new, I haven't even heard it yet.
Through the magic of time travel, I was able to go back and catch up on the tracks I missed. We are now complete up to today.
By the way, don't forget to click on the links to the right and donate a little to the cause.
As usual, doing the bell thing again. 2005-02-17.
Not only are you listening to this over a network, it was created using one. The reverb is courtesy of Rayverb again, but this time it was running on my laptop while the sounds were running on my G4. I used a great thing called WormHole to send the audio between the two. 2005-02-18.
This one was done with a mix of cheap, semi cheap and expensive tools - Garage Band, Pluggo and Cubase SX.
. . . song for a Sunday. 2005-02-20
The last two days' tunes felt a little lonely so I combined them in a mutated fashion.
On the factory floor: 2005-02-22
An attempt to take the piece from the 6th and remove everything except the reverb. Not completely the way I wanted it, but it's a start: 2004-02-24
This was recorded using JunXion from Steim. It lets me turn a gaming joystick into a musical controller. 2005-02-25
There was far too much technology involved in this one.
1. Logic Express
2. JunXion
3. WormHole
4. Rayverb
5. Amadeus II
Also, I've made it possible for you to add comments to these posts, so if you're interested, you can let me know what you think, and ask questions.
You can blame Dave Gamper for this one. He told me he played these two tunes at the same time and liked it. Here it is: 2005-02-26
Using a JI 12 tone pythagorean scale for this one, for those of you who know what that means. Anyway, it's another Song for a Sunday. 2005-02-27
Controlled feedback, using tools in ways that weren't intended. I used both my G4 and my Powerbook, with the reverb running on the Powerbook and fed back into itself with a delay. I had to ride the faders the whole way through to keep thing from blowing up. I couldn't have done this without Rayverb and WormHole.
